I know all kids have great imaginations, but it seems like this one is always pretending something. They're doing the Pirate Unit at his school again, and so most days Aaron is Pirate Pete or Jack Sparrow. Man, does he love everything pirate. Everything, that is, except for Krakens or Giant Squids that give him bad dreams (we've had more than a few of those in the last few weeks).
When he's not screaming "We're DOOMED!" or making you walk the plank, or telling you about his run-in with sharks or crocodiles (which is how he lost his hand, mind you), he's probably pretending he's a dog or a cat. As in: going EVERYWHERE on his hands and knees and talking in a reeeaaaalllly high, difficult to understand cat or dog voice. Doggie Aaron also comes with doggie kisses - or what we humans would call licking.
He seems to have an explanation for everything. For example, "When I eat a lot, my tummy gets full and then all the food goes down to my pee-pee and makes it big."
He loves acting out scripture stories, perfecting different accents, practicing his air guitar, and if you sit still long enough, you will find him on your lap with a pile of books for you to read to him. (And by 'pile' I mean 15 different books is nothin'.)
The other day at lunch, Adam asked him to say the prayer. He started off just fine and then his words transformed into pure gibberish. When it was clear that his prayer had ended, we all said our 'amens' and he looked up with that huge, Aaron grin and said "I'm speaking Spanish!"
Oh, that boy. One thing's for sure with Aaron around: Every day is an adventure. We love this crazy kid.

OH MY HECK!!! He is so funny! I love that boy! :)
What a fun little boy! I can't wait to see him...(I know I have said this a million times...BUT I really can't wait!).
Ha ha ha that will help keep every one entertained. Love it! He should send some of his imaginering to Mason so he can play by himself lol
What a kid! I love that a lot of the things he said don't make any sense unless you know what he's playing at the moment. :)
Me encanta que hable espaƱol. Solo porque ustedes no le entienden no quiere decir que no sabe lo que dice! A lo mejor hasta habla mejor que yo :)
Bien hecho, Aaron!!
